Possible Archives

Combined presentations of the publications Desplega Visions by Quim Bigas and La Ruta del Bakalao: Museo del Remember (1985-2012) by Vista Oral.

Two archives (from the Mercat de les Flors and La Porta) that are really non-archives, and a museum (Remember) that is a collection: these are the physical spaces and intellectual contexts that enliven and infuse the publications presented in this conversation. Two affective, political approaches to concrete contexts and communities: Barcelona dance in the early 2000s, in the volume Desplega Visions; and musical culture in Valencia from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s, in La Ruta del Bakalao – Museo del Remember (1985-2012).

These two research projects, with their own unique characteristics, trace the lines between bodies, orality and the archive, allowing us to share reflections related to what are called dissident archives, dealing with subjectivity, oral memories, contra-hegemonic narratives, authorship and multiplicity, or just as well the published artifact as art object, amongst other subjects.
