About Us

Vista Oral. We are a group of curators and researchers. We are interested in failure, uselessness and every political dimension of unproductiveness. We approach projects as an apprenticeship in which, together with an artist, we open participatory spaces based on interaction and exchange of tools and micro-narratives in order to generate a collective critical discourse. In Los Angeles, we managed GARAJE and previously, we were in charge of the 56x45x25 space. Together with Eloi Gimeno, we co-managed the Folleto publishing house until 2019. We are currently part of the international collective continent.

Vista Oral. We are Alicia Escobio and Maite Muñoz.

Alicia Escobio is curator of Public Programmes at MACBA (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona). She studied philosophy with a specialization in aesthetics and the theory of contemporary art. As an independent curator, she has developed much of her practice as a member of different collectives participating in developing exhibition, discursive and editorial projects. She has been a member of Leland Palmer with Laura Benítez and Lola Lasurt until 2016.

Maite Muñoz is an independent researcher and curator. She is an external advisor to the MACBA Archive, where she has worked for eight years, the last three as Archives Manager. She is a Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (LACA) member, an independent archive and programming space, and the Acid-Free Art Book Market.
