Garaje

GARAJE is a self-managed, independent and non-profit space. Simultaneously, it functions as a space for research, production and artistic residence. It is dedicated to promoting the artistic exchange between Los Angeles and Barcelona, the two cities of residence of its curators, Vista Oral.

This is articulated both through organic programming, resulting from collaborative practices with agents of the artistic environment, which give rise to public, exhibition or editorial programs, as well as through a residency program (by invention), in order to develop joint artistic productions and encourage networks between resident artists and the local artistic context.

GARAJE takes its inspiration from 56x45x25, located in a garage in Silverlake, whose name came from the measurements in cms of Iberia’s regulatory hand luggage, and it welcomed portable projects, easily transportable between Los Angeles and Barcelona, which did not exceed the measurements of a carry-on suitcase.
